(KM570 RGB/KM570 MX) What is the "MR Lock" function?

The "MR Lock" function locks the "MR" key, to prevent accidental macro recording.

To toggle lock or unlock the "MR" key, press "Fn + MR".

When "MR" key is unlocked, keyboard lighting will temporarily turn off, the "MR" key will flash 3 times and stay lit for 3 seconds, and then the keyboard will resume its original lighting.

Whem "MR" key is locked, the keyboard lighting will temporarily turn off for 3 seconds, and then the keyboard will resume its original lighting.
(KM780 series) What does the “G” and “S” stand for on the switch (next to the pass-through audio jack)?

This switch allows setting for standard 6-key rollover (“S”) or for full n-key rollover (“G”). Some legacy software, older systems, or BIOS may not support full n-key rollover, so we recommend setting to “S” for standard 6-key rollover if you have issues with keys not responding in these situations.
How do I make an on-the-fly macro recording?

First, press the “MR” button on the top left corner of the keyboard. The “MR” key will light up. Second, assign a key for your macro (e.g. “G1”). The “MR” key will start blinking, indicating the macro is being recorded. Third, type the macro you wish to program. Finally, when you are finished, press the “MR” key again to complete the on-the-fly macro recording. The “MR” key will turn off, which indicates the keyboard has returned to normal typing mode.
How many keys can be programmed on this keyboard?

(KM780 series)
All keys with the Cherry MX keyswitch can be programmed through the G.SKILL Driver System. Keys not included are: Macro Record (“MR”), Mode Selection (“M1-M3”), Window Key Lock, Brightness, Timer, and Media keys.

(KM570 RGB)
All keys with the Cherry MX keyswitch can be programmed with through the G.SKILL Driver System. Keys not included are: Macro Record ("MR"), and Function ("FN") keys.
What is “Anti-Ghosting”?

“Anti-Ghosting” is a feature that provides accurate keypress detection when two or more keys are pressed at the same time. Without this feature, there may be a combination of keys, when pressed simultaneously, may result in the detection of a key that is not pressed. For example, without this feature, pressing both “G” and “J” keys at the same time may result in the error of detecting “H” is also pressed. With this feature, any combinations of keypresses will be accurately detected.
What is “N-Key Rollover”?

“N-Key Rollover” is a feature in which any number of keys (or all of the keys) on the keyboard can be pressed simultaneously, and the system would be able to detect the keys being pressed. Some keyboards without this feature may have an upper limit to the number of keys being pressed simultaneously. For example, standard 6-key rollover would only support up to 6 keys pressed simultaneously, and the 7th keypress would not register.
Which keys can be programmed with macro?

(KM780 series) The “MR” key, “M1-M3” keys, Windows lock key, brightness key, timer key, and media control keys cannot be set as a Macro Key. Macro keys can be set to any other keys, such as the “G1-G6” keys, function keys, or alphanumeric & punctuation keys.

(KM570 series) With the exception of the "MR" and "FN" key, all other keys can be programmed with a macro.
Why are there two USB connectors?

The USB connector with a keyboard icon is the main keyboard connector, which is needed for the device to properly function. The other connector provides connection for the USB pass-through and additional power for the lighting.
Why can't I change lighting or program a specific key on my keyboard?

Chances are, that the key is a layout specific key not available in the "NA" English language keyboard layout (e.g. a non-104key layout). Please make sure that you are using the latest keyboard software.

KM780/KM780R RGB supports multiple keyboard layouts from version 0.81; KM780/KM780R MX supports multiple keyboard layouts from version 0.77.

If you already have the latest keyboard software installed, please click on the wrench icon on the top right to select the appropriate keyboard layout.
Why does the keyboard setting return to the default lighting profile after a system reboot?

Please remember to click “Save to Device Memory” after configuring the settings in the G.SKILL Driver System. This will save your settings to the on-board device memory; otherwise, the keyboard will revert to the previous setting upon reboot.
Why doesn’t the media control keys work on my keyboard?

If the media control keys aren’t working for a specific software, please check if your multimedia playback software has a “global hotkey” function. Enabling or linking the global hotkey to the keyboard media keys would allow the media keys to control the playback.

If the media keys aren’t working for any software programs, please turn on the “Human Interface Device Access” background service. To enable this service whenever the system boots:
1. Open the “Run…” dialog (or press WinKey + R)
2. Type in “services.msc” and press “Enter”
3. Look for “Human Interface Device Access”
4. Right click on “Human Interface Device Access” and choose “Properties”
5. Under the “General” tab, change the “Startup type” to “Automatic”, and click “OK”
6. If the status is not “Running”, right click on “Human Interface Device Access” and click on “Start”
Why is my keyboard not typing correctly or typing random letters?

It's likely that you've accidentally pressed the "MR" key and recorded a macro to a particular key.

If you know which key is typing random letters, please do the following to reset that particular key:
(for KM570 series)
1. Press "MR" key
2. Press the affected key
3. Press "MR" key to complete the process

(for KM780 series)
1. Press "MR" key
2. Press the affected key
3. Press the affected key again
4. Press "MR" key to finish (this records the original key function as a macro to the key)

If you don't know which key, or if there are multiple keys, please do the following to reset the keyboard settings:
(for KM570 MX) Press and hold "Left Ctrl" + "Left Alt" + "Right Ctrl" for about 5 seconds. This will reset all keyboard settings to the default values.

(for KM780 series or KM570 RGB) Go into the software, and check if there are any macros set to the keyboard. Click and set the keys to "Default" function as needed.
